Why McGregor Media is Great at Retargeting & Remarketing
At McGregor Media, we specialise in turning missed opportunities into new customers. Not everyone converts the first time they visit your website—but with smart retargeting and remarketing strategies, we make sure your brand stays front-of-mind until they’re ready to take action.
Let McGregor Media get you back in front of your potential customers throughout their entire buying journey.
Google Retargeting
We use Google Retargeting to reconnect with people who’ve already visited your website. By showing your ads across millions of websites, YouTube, and Google’s Display Network, we keep your brand visible wherever your audience goes online. This broad reach ensures you don’t just attract attention—you recapture it.
Put simply, it works something like this –
Through Facebook Remarketing, we target people who have engaged with your website, Facebook, or Instagram. Your ads then appear directly in their feeds, Stories, and Messenger—highly visual, engaging spaces where your brand can make a lasting impression. This approach is perfect for reconnecting with warm audiences and turning interest into action.

Frequently Asked Questions — Retargeting & Remarketing
Common questions about how retargeting works and what to expect.
What is the difference between retargeting and remarketing? +
The terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a subtle distinction. Retargeting typically refers to showing display ads to people who have previously visited your website -- usually done through Google's Display Network or social platforms. Remarketing often refers to re-engaging past customers via email or other direct channels. At McGregor Media, we run both Google Retargeting (display ads across millions of websites and YouTube) and Facebook/Instagram Remarketing (ads in social feeds to warm audiences).
How much does a retargeting campaign cost? +
Retargeting is one of the most cost-effective forms of digital advertising because you are targeting people who already know your brand -- conversion rates are typically much higher than cold traffic campaigns. Costs include your ad spend (which can be modest, since your audience is smaller and more targeted) and McGregor Media's management fee. We will recommend an appropriate budget during your free consultation based on your website traffic volumes and goals.
How much website traffic do I need for retargeting to work? +
For Google Retargeting, you typically need at least 100 active users on your site in the past 30 days to start serving ads (Google's minimum audience size). For Facebook/Instagram Remarketing, a minimum of 1,000 matched audience members is recommended for optimal delivery. If your traffic is currently too low for retargeting to work effectively on its own, we can combine it with a broader campaign strategy to build your audience first.
What platforms do you use for retargeting? +
We run retargeting across Google's Display Network (millions of websites, apps, and YouTube), Facebook and Instagram feeds, Stories, and Messenger. This multi-platform approach ensures your brand stays visible to potential customers across their entire online journey -- whether they are browsing news sites, watching videos, or scrolling social media. The more touchpoints you create, the higher your conversion rate.
How long does it take to set up a retargeting campaign? +
We can typically have a retargeting campaign set up and live within 5-7 business days of sign-up. This includes installing tracking pixels on your website, building audience lists, creating ad creatives, and configuring campaign settings. If your site already has Google Analytics and Meta Pixel installed, setup is even faster.
Can retargeting run alongside my existing Google Ads or social campaigns? +
Absolutely -- in fact, retargeting works best as part of a layered digital marketing strategy. Your existing Google Ads or social campaigns drive new visitors to your site; retargeting then brings those visitors back to convert. This full-funnel approach consistently outperforms any single channel on its own. McGregor Media can manage all of your campaigns together for a cohesive strategy and better overall results.
